Sunny Garcia is a native of Hawaii and has surfed all his life, becoming a pro surfer at age 16. Since then he’s been crowned surfing’s world champion, has dozens of titles to his name and is one of the most well-known surfers on the planet.

But this Saturday, Oct. 10, you won’t find Sunny in the lineup. Instead, he will tackle one of the biggest competitions of his life, the Ironman World Championships.

In recent years Sunny, now 45, found a new passion, triathlon. And on this show we learn about his transition from pro surfer to Ironman triathlete, and we get to the root of his competitive nature that keeps him thriving…

Sunny is also involved with nonprofits including Smile Train, for whom he’s raised more than $50,000 during his Road to Kona.
